Delete Your Account
How to request deletion of your Nuru account and associated data
You own your data. If you want to delete your Nuru account and the personal data we hold, you can request this at any time by emailing us. We will process your request promptly and confirm once deletion is complete.
01How to Request Deletion
Account deletion is handled by email. There is no automated in-app flow — we review each request manually to confirm your identity and prevent unauthorized deletion.
Send a deletion request
- 1 Email info@alkebuleum.org from the address associated with your Nuru account (if you registered with email).
- 2 Use the subject line: Delete Nuru Account
- 3 In the body, include the email address or wallet address associated with your account so we can locate your records.
- 4 We will confirm receipt and complete the deletion within 30 days, sending a confirmation to your email when done.
02What We Delete
When your deletion request is processed, we remove all personal data we hold about you from our servers, subject to the exceptions described in the next section.
| Data | What It Includes | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Account profile | Email address, display name, account preferences | Deleted |
| AI conversation history | Messages and responses stored from Nuru AI guide sessions | Deleted |
| Recovery records | Social recovery guardian lists and wallet recovery metadata stored on our servers | Deleted |
| App-related server data | Device tokens, session data, push notification identifiers | Deleted |
| Blockchain transaction records | On-chain transactions, wallet addresses, .alke names recorded on the public ledger | Cannot be deleted — public blockchain |
| Legal & compliance records | Data required by KYC/AML laws, fraud prevention, or active legal obligations | Retained as required by law |
03Blockchain Records Cannot Be Deleted
On-chain data is permanent. Any transactions you have executed, wallet addresses you have used, on-chain credentials (such as your AIN), and .alke names registered on the Alkebuleum blockchain are public records on a permissionless ledger. Nuru has no ability to delete, modify, or conceal these records — no party does.
This is a fundamental property of public blockchains, not a policy choice. You should be aware before transacting on-chain that those records will exist permanently and publicly.
04Data We May Retain After Deletion
Some records may be retained after your deletion request if required for security investigation, fraud prevention, or compliance with applicable laws and regulations. We will only retain the minimum necessary and will not use retained data for any other purpose.
Specific cases where we may retain data:
- Active fraud investigation: If your account is subject to an open investigation, relevant records may be held until the investigation concludes.
- Legal obligation: Certain jurisdictions require us to retain identity verification data for 5–7 years under KYC/AML regulations.
- Dispute resolution: If there is an outstanding dispute, claim, or legal proceeding involving your account.
- Aggregated anonymized data: Analytics that cannot be linked back to you individually are not subject to deletion.
Where retention is required, we will inform you of the reason and estimated retention period in our deletion confirmation email.
